The fastest growing tech sector in NZ for 2017 and 2018
In 2018, with support from Waikato Means Business and UltraFast Fibre, CultivateIT engaged Wollemi Consulting to work with us and other local stakeholders to understand the digital and technology landscape in the Waikato and develop a list of recommendations for increasing the uptake of digital and ICT across the region.
The outcome of that work, a Digital Stocktake and Digital Action Plan (available below), was then used as the basis for working with a wider group of stakeholders to develop a Digital and ICT programme of work forming part of the 2020-2022 Waikato Economic Development programme.
Local stakeholders also worked with CultivateIT and Te Waka to develop the Digital Waikato 2025 strategy (available below) to support the Waikato region’s economic development goals and facilitate leveraging digital technologies for the benefit of communities, business, government and across industry sectors.
Delivery of the Digital Waikato 2025 strategy and programme of work is led by CultivateIT working in partnership with Te Waka, and in collaboration with a Digital Stakeholder Group representing stakeholders from around the region.
The digital and ICT programme of work, as part of the Digital Waikato 2025 strategy, aligns with the Governments sector-led approach to grow industry innovation and boost productivity, outlined in From the Knowledge Wave to the Digital Age: Growing Innovative Industries in New Zealand (available below).
